Truly sustainable wood
All of our wood comes from our own 250 acre farm which is divided into 3 sections: timber plantations of varying sizes, agricultural land, and primary forest. We sustainably harvest mature trees of the best quality and mill them into lumber ourselves, onsite. We use carefully thought out low-impact forestry equipment to cut and transport the logs through the forest and top-of-the-line milling equipment to produce the best lumber with a minimum foot-print. We do everything ourselves. No outside contractors or middle men. From planting to forest management, tree harvest, log milling, and sale. For this reason, our wood is available in limited quantities and you’ll only ever get from us the very best lumber in the market. Period.

We’re constantly working out in the forest – planting, working the land, harvesting, etc. Lumber availability depends on many factors including how many mature trees we’ve got of a given species, our overall forest management plan for sustainability, ecology and nature protection, the season, our work load, administrative questions (in Costa Rica, permits are required from the ministry of the environment in order to sell wood and lumber), and unexpected events (for example when we find valuable fallen trees in the forest). Below are our current best offers.
MELINA
The world’s most demanded wood
Gmelina is a strong but lightweight, light-colored, even-grained wood that is naturally insect resistant, easy to work, and which accepts stains and finishes well. Its ever growing worldwide popularity and famous versatility, along with its low pricing (being a fast growing hardwood tree) make it the lumber of choice in many industries including construction, furniture and packing.
We’ve got milled Melina of all sizes as well as rough squares:
TEAK
The world’s most famous wood
Tectona Grandis is the worldwide gold standard for longevity, decay resistance, and beauty. Teak truly is a worldwide favorite. With its superb stability, great strength properties, easy workability—and most of all, its outstanding resistance to decay and rot—it’s no wonder that Teak ranks among the most desired lumbers in the world. Despite its widespread cultivation on plantations worldwide, truly mature, high quality Teak is actually very rare. It is perhaps one of the most difficult to find lumbers on the market, at least for large-sized, non-figured wood, when looking for true quality.
We currently have 20 m³ of rare (35 years old) teak available for sale:
AMARILLÓN
A rare tropical hardwood.
Terminalia Amazonia is an incredible tropical hardwood. The timber is commonly used in heavy general interior and exterior construction, cabinetwork, floors (parquet), decorative veneers, bridge foundations, and boats. Also called Roble Coral, Amarillón, and bullywood, the wood is yellow and of excellent quality.
We have a fully mature (35 years old) 20 acre plantation of Amarillón immediately available:

Premium quality wood. Authentic process.
We’ve established standards of ethic, sustainability, and quality absolutely unparalleled in today’s rough lumber industry. We’re a small family operation and we do everything ourselves. No middle men, no abused farmer at the end of the line, no depleted soil. We plant trees, manage the farm and live the land. We harvest the best and most mature trees and we produce lumber on site with our own top-of-the-line sawmill. We have an intricate and complete knowledge of the wood and its properties such as was common perhaps 200 years ago but is gone today.
